Sub-bibliographies
Wikindx allows creating of any number of subsets of the master bibliography. This eliminates duplication of effort in overlapping bibliographies and allows a scholar or group of scholars to focus on only parts of the overall bibliography.
There are two types of sub-bibliographies, user bibliographies and group bibliographies. User bibliographies are private and unique to single user.
Group bibliographies are shared among a preestablished list of users.

User Bibliographies
A user bibliography is useful for specific projects where only a subset of the main (either master or group bibliography) is of interest. Since a properly formatted version of this sub-bibliography is easily output for import into a document this is a convenient way to prepare the bibliographical material for a book or article. See "Exporting lists" in the "News" menu item.
A user bibliography can only be created by a registered user and will only be visible to that user.

To create a user bibliography

  • Select "My Wikindx" from the main menu
  • Scroll down to "My Bibliographies" and select the button "Create a new bibliography" then click on "Proceed"
  • Give it a descriptive name and fill in the optional description. Click on "Add"
  • It goes back to the "My Wikindx" page. Scroll down again and you will see that it now appears in the "My Bibliographies" list
  • Scroll a little further to "Use this bibliography for browsing" and you will see it listed along with any other bibliographies available to you.
  • Do not select this bibliography yet if you want to select existing resources to be in this bibliography (new resources can be added while working in a sub-bibliography)

To create a group bibliography
  • An administrator will have, under "My Wikindx", a section "My User Groups
